The Batteries2020 project aims at enhancing the lifetime and energy density of large format lithium-ion batteries, ensuring their duration, competitiveness, safety, good performance and reasonable cost. To do this we will develop cost-effective, competitive materials and research into optimised control strategies to improve battery duration and enable sizing adjustments.

We will also research strategies for taking better advantage of battery capacity in a second-life use as accumulators for renewable energies.

our contribution

In addition to piloting the project, IK4-Ikerlan will validate the models developed, using real application profiles.
